Canada Eases Controls On U.S. Imports
OTAWA, Sept 1 (Recd 8.30 pm).— Canada has announced a sharp reduction in Import controls on United States goods. The controls in addition to being removed from a wide range of consumption goods were lifted from 45 of the 95 capital goods items. The Minister of Finance (Mr. Abbott) said the controls had been eased because of an improvement in Canada's gold and United States dollar reserve.
