Future Guaranteed Prices For British Farmers

LONDON, Sept. 1 (Reed. 6pm).— British farmers will receive lower guaranteed' prices for milk and eggs in 1952 and 1953, but higher prices will be paid for fat cattle and pigs. Under new schedules announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, producers are guaranteed a minimum of 95s a hundredweight, and 40s a hundredweight for fat pigs. The present minimum payment for milk is to be reduced from 2s 2d a gallon to 2s in 1952, and 10s lOd in 1953.

The minimum payment for eggs will be reduced from 3s 4d a dozen to 3s in 1952, and 2s lid in 1943. The minimum payment for fat sheep will remain unchanged at Is lOd a lb.— Special N.Z.P.A. Correspondent.
