Verdict At Inquest Into Man’s Sudden Death

A verdict that Gore Jordan Clark, aged 50, employed in the stores branch of the East Town Railway Workshops, had a heart seizure at the Central Private Hotel, Waganui, on August 23 and died as a result of hardening the arteries, was returned bv the coroner, Mr. F. Forsythe, when the inquest was held yesterday. Florence Beatrice Clark, his wife, said that her husband went to work as usual on the morning of August 23, but returned to the Central Private Hotel, where they were staying, at 12.15 p.m. He complained of feeling unwell. Dr. R. J. Moore was called and while he was there her husband took? a' bad turn. Efforts made by the doctor to revive him were unsuccessful and he collapsed and died. Dr. Moore described a post-mortem examination which he conducted and said that in his opinion death was due to coronorary occlusion, or hardening of the arteries of the heart.
