Two Airmen Fined In Bulls Court For Damaging A.A. Sign

BULLS, Last Night (OC).—Several cases were dealt with by Mr. A. Coleman, S.M., at a regular sitting in Bulls this week of the Magistrate’s Court. Two airmen from the Ohakea R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Alan Summerson and Edward Knowles, were charged with committing mischief in that they ■ wilfully damaged a road sign erected I by the Automobile Associatino (Mana- ' watu) to the extent of £6 13s. | Constable R. R. Pawsey said that ; both men came from a party under i cthe influence of liquor and set about wrecking the road sign at the corner 1 leading to the Ohakea air station. Offences of this nature were difficult to detect and were occurring too frequently in the district, said the constable. | Summerton, who holds the rank of 1 corporal, was fined £2, costs 12s, and . Knowles, an Acl, was fined £l, with costs. They were ordered to pay the ' cost of the damage in equal propor--1 tions. | For being in the possession of liquor ,in the vicinity of the Bulls Football Club’s dance on May 85, Mervyn David Stentiall. James Tehoponga, Dalton Bentley Galvin, Michael Glentworth, Brian Pevan and Ivan Richard Martimac were each fined £3 and and costs For having no warrant of fitness for a motor vehicle, P. M. Anderson was fined 10s, with costs, and R. S. Sharp, who parked a car on a recognised bus stop, was fined 15s and costs. Another motorist who was unable to produce a warrant of fitness, Te Aota Ngata Wirihana, was fined £1 with 12s costs. TRAFFIC BREACHES.
