WANGANUI STUDENT AT “OLD VIC” SCHOOL IN LONDON
LONDON, June 16 (Recd. 8 pm).— Mr. Graeme Allwright, of Wellington, is commended by “The Times,’ and the “Daily Telegraph” for his performance as “Amintor” in “The Maid’s performed by the Old Vic Theatre school, al which the New Zealander is a student. Mr. Allwright is one of six New Zealand students at the school, the others being Pamela Mann. Christchurch; Edith Campion, Wanganui; Phillippa Reid. Canterbury; Robert Stead, Wellington; John Knight, Auckland. Edith Campion’s husband, Mr Richard Campion, is stage manager of the Young Vic Company this season, and is also a graduate of the Old Vic Schoo], The public relations representative for Old. Vic Theatre School is a New Zealander, Marie Donaldson, of Christchurch. Mr. Knight, who flew with the New Zealand 485 Squadron during the war, and was shot down and taken prisoner, is studying stage designing.— Special N.Z.P.A. Correspondent.
