Coastal Command Planes Take Part In “Operation Santa”
LONDON, Dec. 2 (Reed 10.30 pm). —Three Coastal Command Lancaster planes today took part in "Operation Santa,’’ parachuting Christmas mail to crews of the two British weather ships which will be at sea over Christmas.
Float containers were dropped from th» bomb bays and picked up by dinghies from the ships—one lying 200 miles south of Iceland, the other 500 miles west of Ireland.
