Colonel Burrows To Command Papakura Military Camp
WELLINGTON, Yesterday (PA).— Brigadier J. T. Burrows, who resigned recently from the position of rector of Waitaki Boys’ High School, is to join the Regular Army next month in the rank of colonel. This was announced today by the Minister of Defence, Mr MacDonald, who added that Colonel Burrows’ first appointment would be as commander of Papakura Camp, one of the camps in which young men called up for military training would be trained. For this post he was obviously well fitted by experience.
