Surprise Omissions From Australian Surf Team
SYDNEY, Dec.'l2 (Recd. Bpm). Two Australian champions were shock omissions when the Australian surf team to visit New Zealand in February was announced today. They are the senior belt rfiampion, Alan Williams, Queensland, and the junior belt champion, T. Barnett, Wollongong. There were other surprise omissions. The team is: R. Johnson, 21 North Cronulla; Alan Johnson, 20, North Bondi; R. Mathieson, 23, Freshwater; A. Parlette, 18, Manly; J. Mills, 21, Coffs Harbour; D. Cresw'ick, 17, South-west Rocks' L. Lazarus, 22, Newcastle; D. Morrison Cottesloe, 21, West Australia; J.' Boast, 19, Burleigh Heads, Queensland; S. Wilkes, Queensland.
Morrison has been belt champion of West Australia for the past three years. Lazarus hblds the Australian ski title. Creswick and Parlette were chosen as the best all-round juniors in Australia. -
