VOTING IN ELECTION ALREADY BEGUN

AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA) Voting in the general election started in Auckland on Monday afternoon, when members of the crew of the Kaimanawa cast their votes just before the ship sailed for Brisbane. The group was able to vote under the postal voting regulations in spite of the fact that nominations for candidates close on November 16. The Rigistrar of Electors in Auckland, Mr. J. H. V Carr, said tonight thqt so long as the voter’s intention was clear to the returning officer his vote was valid. A voter might, vote for either a prospective candidate or for a political party, and the vote w’ould be acceptable.
