St. Paul’s Women’s Friendship Club

There was a very good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of St. Paul’s Women’s Friendship Club held in the hall on Wednesday evening. Members were welcomed by Mrs D. Ryan, after which devotions were taken by Mrs Neilson. Members stood in silence in sympathy with Mrs Tarrant in the recent loss of her father. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Mrs J. M. Morrison, who rendered two delightful arias (accompanist. Mrs Wells). This was followed by a most interesting anci enjoyable talk given by Miss Jean Evans on her recent travels through England and Scotland The time allotted the speaker passed all too quickly for her audience. Miss Galloway, on behalf of the club thanked the performers, who were each presented with a spray. Competition results: Best chrysanthemum, Mrs Windelburn 1, Mrs Mansen ,2- Mrs Patterson 3. Best hot water bag cover, Mrs Aitken 1. Mrs Robertson 2, Mrs McGregor 3. The evening closed with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the serving! <*ff supper by Mesaames Dick, Gaston, Swan and Warren.
