Susan Maclean Farewelled At Girls College Yesterday

Susan Maclean, head prefect of the Wanganui Girls’ College, who will attend a Youth Form to be held in England from March 10 until the middle of May, for which she has been awarded a special scholarship, was given an official goodbye at the school yesterday afternoon. Those present at the function were Mr. G. S. Gordon (chairman of the Board of Governors), the Mayor (Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C.7, members of the board ,the principal (Miss M. E. Baker) and representatives of the Old Girls’ Association, members of the staff, and prefects. Also present were the parents of Susan. Mr. and Mrs, C. N, Maclean. Speakers were Mr. Gordon and Mr. Rogers, the president of the Old Girls’ Association (Mrs. K. Scoullar), and Jean Mitchell, the acting head prefect. Susan, <eturning thanks for the nod wishes extended If) her, outlined plans for her forthcoming visit to England. She will leave Auckland by air on Tuesday, March 1.
