Mannequin Parade Proved Popular At Carnival

The mannequin display at the opening night of the Wanganui February Carnival featured some delightful childrens clothes anj exquisite fur coats.

Valerie Sanson wore blue locknit pyjamas with laced trimmed neckline and smocked yokeline underneath a candlewick cross over front dressing gown; a very smart voile frock with organdie insets.

Joy Richardson displayed a cinamin brown housecoat with high buttoned neckline, peter pan collar and novelty pockets tailored in English velour; a long wearing heavy-weight American linen with white panels at the waistline beautifully embroidered with animals, birds, bees and trees.

A twin-set was worn by Peggy Sanson. The cardigan was of the imported English knitwear and the skirt was a green all-wool-knife-pleated one. Tier next garment was an English tailored coat with panelled back with a half belt ana flaring into a full skirt.

A charming picture was made by Shirley Sanson and Robin Simonack, who wore matching coats and berets. They .are English make and finely tailored in good quality wool velour. Shirley Sanson was also seen in a charming combination which featured a blue cambric frock with shirring on the waist and on the sleeves and over the top was a pinafore in white organdie with lace trimming. Pamela Gordon wore an attractive fair isle twin set which piesented an attractive combination. She also displayed a sun frock with interlaced red ribbon with triple fi\ ed cape sleeves.

Miss Beverley Brown was featured in a number of fur coats. She wore a leopard coney, with mole flat collar; genuine Russian pechaniki with tapered sleeves and swing back; a safari coney coat with full sleeves and triple swing back. She also were a natural black coney with swing back and parachute sleeves; a rose beige coney coat with new triple swing back and cuff sleeve and a cream coney jogger lined with tan coney.

The display of children’s wear was sponsored by Londontown Enterprises Ltd. and the furs by the Fur Shop. A display of ancient, neglige was presented by members of the D.I.C. staff.
