Hunterville Branch Of W.D.F.F.

The first meeting of the year of the Hunterville branch of the W.D.F.F. was held on Thursday, February 10. Mrs. McAlley presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies were received from Mesdames L. Hammond, Harre, R. Dalziell, Hunger. After the correspondence had been read, Miss McDonald presented the balance sheet for the New Year dance and competition. Mrs. McAlley thanked all those who had worked so hard to make the dance a success. As the Rest Homes were still urgently in need for funds it was proposed that £lO be sent from the Hunterville branch. It was also proposed that a small donation be sent to the heedy Leper Society. The meeting was in favour of having another trading table at the branch meeting and arrangements were again left, in the capable hands of Mrs, Abel. All members were asked to remind those not present and to make a special effort to make the table a success.

It was decided that the competition for March should be a basket containing six varieties of vegetables arranged for effect. When the business was concluded members were called upon to present, an item learnt in their schooldays. This was followed by a play reading, “Peace in Our Time,” in which Mesdames McAlley, Abel, Wilton, Laird, Still, Misses McDonald, and Davies took part. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames T. Hammond. A. McAlley, A. Bartlett, Miss Davies.
