I Miss Margaret Hanson, Carlton I Terrace, flew to Australia recently on a holiday trip and has been visiting Melbourne and Sydney. Pantry Evening. A very enjoyable evening was spent in games and competitions when Mrs. D. Allen, Victory Place, was hostess at a pantry evening given in honour of her sister, Miss Fay Price. The bride-to-be received many useful gifts. Fordeil Horticultural Society. The lovely gardens of tiTe Fordeil ana Okoia district reflected their beauty in the Fordeil Hall on Saturday when over 1000 entries were well staged. There were beautiful quality dahlias and cut flowers and the vegetable and fruit section was a credit to the growers. Much admired was the strongly-contested decorative work with up-to-date classes for floral novelties and modern style of floral art. A loaded produce stall run by men did good business.
