Smuggling In Germany Is To Be Checked
BERLIN, Feb. 16 (Rec. 7 pm).— The British and American military Governors-Generals Robertson and Clay, announced that in an effort to cut down smuggling, which cost £40,000,000, Geerman guards are to make Customs checks on all Britons and Allies entering or leaving Western Germany
General Clay said an Allied officer would be at inspections at specified places. “If necessary I will put an entire army on the borders,” he said. Parcels. by mail will also be closely checked.
