Seriousnes Of King's Illness Is Confirmed
SYDNEY, Nov 27.—An official Government report from London has confirmed the seriousness of the King’s illness, says the Canberra correspondent of the Sydney “Daily Telegraph.” The report indicates that although the doctors may effect a partial cure, the King will never recover fully. It describes the King’s illness as a closing of the. main arteries through which blood flows into the foot. This means danger of gangrene if the foot is injured. The report adds: “The complaint could have very serious complications. Specialists think they can effect a partial cure, but there is no complete cure for the complaint.” The King s physicians hope he will be able to carry on with his State duties. .Another complication of the King’s present illness is that for some time his general health has not been good. For this reason the King’s physicians regard the future as something of a gamble.” A bright spot in the Government’s reports from London is that the King has reacted satisfactorily to treatment.
