Twilight Athletic Sports Held On Cook’s Gardens
With fine weather prevailing, success attended the first twilight sjports held on Cook’s Gardens last night under the control of the Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club. There was a large muster of competitors and all events were keenly contested. Results were: Boys’ 75 yards: M. Overall 1, A. Grey 2, B. Waite 3. Boys’ 440 yards: M. Overall 1, B. Dowdall 2, B. Time, 11 sec. Junior 100 yards: I. Perigo 1, D. Jackson 2, V. O'Loughlin 3. Time, 11.3 sec. Senior 660 yards: C. Doreen 1, A. Old 2, N. Thomas 3. Junior 660 yards: T. Nixon 1, W. Hickey 2, N.
