Marton Junction’s Savage Goose And Wandering Cow
MABTON, Last Night (OC).— ‘The resident next door has a goose running loose, and if you want to go and post a letter the thing takes to you. There are others frightened of it, and I think it should be fastened up.”
So wrote a resident of Marton Junction to the Marlon Borough Council. ‘Til be home all next week,” the letter continued. “If you hear of anyone wanting to buy a house, just put them on to me.” The writer also complained that a cow, which had wandered into the writer’s property, had eaten the vegetables’.
The Mayor (Mr. T. E. Barton) is to look into the complaint.
