T.B. Accommodation At Auckland Reduced

(PA) Auckland. June 28. Although there arc many tuberculosis patients with active lesions waiting in their own homes for hospital treatment, accommodation for tuberculosis cases at Green Lane Hospital has been reduced by 15 beds. Further reductions are expetced. It was reported to a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board tonight that because of the acute shortage of su)table staff for nursing, female shelters of 20 beds at Green Lane Hospital had been closed to economise with the existing staff. Some of the patients had been transferred to other wards, but the total number of tuberculosis patients at the hospital had been reduced from 155 on May 1 to 140 to June 9.
