Castlecliff Golf Club’s Four-Ball Match Results
Last Saturday Castlecliff golfers played a four-ball best-ball (bogey) match. Due to an error in the programme this game was referred to in the previous week’s golf results as the first round for the Lincoln Bennet Cup. However, this event does not take place until July 10. The weather was fine, and as is usual in games of this nature, the scoring was good, no fewer than 16 pairs handing in cards of all square or better. D. Gordon and J. Whetton. with a score of 6 up, won on a count bank from H. Brodie and J. M. Earle. Other good scorers were: L. Thomas and F. Currie, 5 up; W. Shardlow and I. Brown, G. Moulin and B. McElwaine, D. and I. Corby, C. Whetton. F. Higgins, 4 up. A Stableford match will be played on Saturday. This will enable players to finalise those matches still to be played in the second round of the Power Cup.
