Central Swimming Club’s Activities Curtailed In 1947-48

Activities during the 1947-48 season were greatly curtailed as a result of the poliomyelitis epidemic restrictions, no carnivals and very few club nights being held, it was stated in the annual report of the Wanganui Central Swimming Club presented at the annual meeting last night. "The bridge-to-bridge race was again the main event of the year,’’ added the report, "a record number of entries being received. Our club was also well represented at the Flannagan Cup event at New Plymouth.”

Special thanks were due to Messrs Cadwallader, McGinnity, Duncan and Dodds, and Mrs. Dodds, whose work had helped place the club m a sound financial position.
