100 Dozen Towels Sold In Half Hour By Wellington Store

(P.A.) Wellington, May 24. A Wellington city store announced by advertisement a special sale of "100 dozen and 30 English striped towels” to open at 9 o'clock this morning. A queue of about 2000 stormed the store and by 9.30 a.m.atoday the last pair of towels had been sold. “It was a glaring example of the acute shortage of household linen,” commented Mrs A. Oliver.
