Youth Found Guilty Of Theft Of Paint Given Probation
Found guilty of the theft of two and a-half gallons of paint belonging to the Wanganui Education Board, Peter Gordon Allen, apprentice plumber, was admitted to probation for 12 months by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Wanganui yesterday. The magistrate said that there was no doubt that defendant had been found in possession of paint belonging to the board. There was no doubt that he had been misled by an elder man, but at the same time he knew he was doing wrong. He hoped the matter would not affect the completion of defendant’s apprenticeship, although it might affect his present indentures.
