Small Fine For Using Cement For Concrete Footpath
For constructing a path of cement or ready mixed concrete without the permission of the building controller, Donald Jameson Bell was fined £1 with 10s costs and £2 2s Crown Counsel’s fee by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Wanganui yesterday. It was stated that defendant had Bought the cerrtent during a period when its sale was unrestricted. He had been unable to complete the path at his house because of service in the army. The cement was becoming old and he had finished the path without securing a permit. It was stated that defendant was on a pension.
