CANTERBURY NEED 352 IN PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH WITH OTAGO

(P.A.) Dunedin, Jan. 26. Canterbury need 352 runs to gain an outright win against Otago in the final Plunket Shield match of the season, and Otago must dismiss Canterbury tomorrow for less than that figure to win the coveted trophy, so that the match is in a most interesting position. Canterbury was dismissed for 351 runs, and Otago declared at stumps with th.Qir score 329 for eight. Another brilliant century by Sutcliffe was the outstanding feature of the day’s play, the left-hander making 125 runs in the good time of 155 minutes. He pasted the bowling to ali parts of the field, and did so with effortless ease.
