(P.A.) Auckland, Jan. 25 To confer with post office officials on the possibilities of establishing a factory in New Zealand to manufacture sufficient telephone equipment for the Dominion’s needs, the general manager of Communication Engineering Pty. Ltd., New South Wales, Mr. W. R. Freeman, arrived in the stegmer Mirrabooka. He said that during the war Australia proved that she could produce telephone equipment equal to any in the world and there was no reason why New Zealand's requirements should not be met internally.
