The New Zealand Bowling Association’s shield, which was astray somewhere between Gisborne and Dunedin, has been found. According to the news it is stil in transit, in this modern era of socialism, and is expected to arrive n Dunedin in due course. In other words, the chaps who sent it on its journey took plenty of green, and the shield has a terrible draw. We thought it must be in some ditch. Had that been the case, now that it is found, it would be a "toucher,” because it will still count for the championship. BROADCASTING OF LESSONS. The nation perhaps hails the fact tha*. radio will be able to give lessons to children during the compulsory school vacation caused by infantile paralysis. But will some real dinkum teacher, who belongs to that school which two and two make four and could spell correctly, please tell harrassed parents, in this era of selfreliant, let-the-child-do-i(s-own-think-ing type of education, how to keep them listening to ;he radio. Maybe teachers could do it, but it is beyond most parents! We know what will happen to our radio set —modern education would not be worthy of the name if the set did not develop "technical faults” at the proper time. This “let-the-children-decide-for-them-selves" era will have a glorious fling during these days of radio teaching. And we wouldn't be a bit surprised if the parents, brought up in a school of “do your lessons or watch out,” will be made responsible. Mum. it's over to you. You see that the little beggars do their lessons by radio. Mum, she's all yours. We’ve got work to do. That's where we seek our means of self-expression.” See what sort of self-expression vou'll need. To the radio Mum. and be a good teacher, keep your “H's" in trim, your figure in control, and remember the child must be allowed to express itself in its own sweet way.
