Oamaru has the credit of having saved the greatest number of meat and butter coupons on a population basis during the recent holiday period The totals saved under the Aid for Britain focd saving campaign were in general good. Second on the list of districts is Gisborne, with Wanganui third, Timaru fourth. Coupons saved in the period from December 13 to January 17 were: Oamaru, butter 260, meat 6418; Gisborne 263, 5948; Wanganui 497, 12,493; Timaru 208, 6110; Hamilton 248, 15,743; Napier 237, 7837; Nelson 116, 3280; Blenheim 62, 1703; Masterton 242, 2121; Palmerston North 203, 7745; Invercargill 320, 3608; Christchurch 243, 9225; Whangarei 128, 1627; Dunedin 191, 3221; New Plymouth 19, 1215; Auckland 122, 5951; Westport —, 163, Thames 13, 714; Wellington 25, 835; Greymouth 60, 46. Totals: Butter 3467; meat 99,003.
