Incentive Payment Schemes In N.Z.
SURVEY TO BE MADE. (P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 23. In advising that the Department of Labour and Employment would shortly be making a survey of incentive payment schemes operating in New Zealand, Mr. McLagan (Minister of Labour) said that a survey was being made in order to ascertain the extent to which such schemes were in use. The types of scheme operating, and the views of employers and trade unions on the results obtained. There has been quite a lot said about incentive schemes, but such schemes varied considerably in basis and merit. A stock-taking of New Zealand experience up to would be of decided value as a realistic basis for any further examination or discussion of the matter.
