Women’s softball games were resumed in Wanganui on Saturday, following the Christmas recess, and they ended the grading round. Results: M.1.A.—9, 5,1, 1,6, 4, 12; total 38. Zemba.—o, 2, 3. 4,0, 0,3; total 12. Pitching and fielding analysis: M. strike outs 4, walks 2, caught out 6, fielded out 11. Most runs, L. Maxwell 5. Home runs, S. Weneti and P. Whararau one each. Zemba.—Strike outs 1, walks 0, caught out 5, fielded out 15. Most runs, P. Baldwin, P. Bennett, and A. Ruscoe two each. A. Ruscoe scored one home run. Dodgers.— 0,8, 0,2, 4,1; total 15. Hinemoa. —2,2, 0, 0 0,1, 0; total 53 Pitching and fielding analysis: Dodgers, strike outs 0, walks 0, caught out 7, fielded out 14. Most runs, N. Burt, P. A’dair, K. Gedge, V. Sloss, DBoobyer and B. Robb two each. Hinemoa.—Strike outs 3, walks 0, caught out 4, fielded out 11; S. Free, B. Hill, N. Hogg, M. Graham and V. Matson scored one run each. S. Free scored one home run. Excellent fielding by Dodgers kept Hinemoa’s score down in this game. N. Burt pitched steadily and K. Gedge played very well on first base. For Hinemoa, P. Vine showed improvement on second base, and V. Matson struck form as pitcher. Amazons won by default from Hinemoa B; Star won by default from Woollen Mills; and Homers won by default from Children’s Garments.
