ASSISTANT MATRON AT MARGARET WATT HOME FAREWELLED
Miss R. Finlayson, who has been as-sistant-matron at the Margaret Watt Home and has resigned to take up another position, wai met by members of the Trust Board on Wednesday afternoon at the home and entertained at afternoon tea.
Eulogistic references to the capable manner in which she had carried out her work in the interests of the children were made by the chairman of the board (Mr. S. M. Dixon), the R»v. A. C. McLean, Mrs. R. D. Rule (mafron), Mr. A. McPhail, and Mr. E. Mara. On behalf of . the Trust Board, Mr. Dixon presented Miss Finlayson with an envelope containing a cheque with the good wishes of the trust in her future career. Miss Finlayson suitably replied. Miss Finlayson, who has been as-sistant-matron, with Mrs. Rule as matron, of the Margaret Walt Home since its opening 15 years ago, has accepted a position as matron at the Hawke’s Bay Childten’s Home, Havelock North, and takes up her new duties on Wednesday next.
