GAY BLONDE DEAD
The brood mare Gay Blonde died recently after foaling a filly to Foxbridge. The best of Gay Blonde’s produce to race is Zealander, who won three races last season as a two-year-old and was third to Howe and Privilege in the Wellington Guineas in October. By Gay Shield from Lady Marie, Gay Blonde was the leading two and three-year-old of her time, her wins including the A.R.C. Great Northern Dcrb”. Oaks, Guineas and Railway Handicap. In the latter event she established a race record of 1.11 3-5. Gay Blonde later went to Australia, where she won the A.J.C. Craven Plate, Squatters’ and Tramway Handicaps and the V.R.C. L. K. S. McKinnon Stakes.
