MORE BIRTHS AND DEATHS LAST MONTH
ALL-ROUND INCREASE FOR THE 11 MONTHS OVER LAST YEAR In November this year there were many more births in Wanganui than in the same month last year and more than double the number of deaths; but the total marriages were 10 fewer than for November. 1945. For the 11 months of the year births, deaths and marriages are in. excess of the figures for the same length of time last year. Figures for the month, with totals for last year in parentheses, are as follows: Births: 74 (55)—an increase of 19. Deaths: 43 (20)—an increase of 23. Marriages: 40 ( 50)—a decrease of 10. For the 11 months of the year so far passed, the following totals have been registered:— Births: 742 ( 654)—an increase of 88. Deaths: 375 (338)—an increase of 37. Marriages: 416 (331)—an. increase of 85.
