NEW STEAMER HINEMOA WILL NOT ARRIVE FOR CHRISTMAS

Hopes that the 23-k'not ferry steamer Hinemoa would be in service on the Wellington-Lyttelton run for the Christmas travel period have been dashed by advice that her departure from England will be delayed through late deliveries.of essential material, particularly electrical equipment. She will now arrive in New Zealand towards the end of January, and it is expected she will enter the Welling-ton-Lyttelton run in the beginning of February.

The first passenger steamer lo leave the British .yards since the end of the war, the Hinemoa was launched for the Union Steam Ship Company last May. She was to have left England early next month for Wellington, travelling by way of Suez and calling at Port Said, Colombo and Fremantle for fuel oil.
