RUSH OF CHRISTMAS PARCELS FOR BRITAIN
(P.A.) Auckland, Oct. 3. Prompted by the approach o£ Christmas, mailings of food parcels for Britain in the Auckland area are pouring into post offices at an average rate of about 2000 each week day. Now handling the largest number of parcel mails they have known, Auckland postal officials expect an even greater last-minute rush. Four- ships will be carrying mail this month, and although no final closing date for Christmas delivery has been announced, officials suggested postings within the next fortnight to guarantee a safe time margin for distribution.
