PRIORITY FOR TRADE UNIONS
DISCUSSIONS IN THE UNITED NATIONS Reed. 6 p.m. New York, May 22. A committee of lhe United Nations Economic Social Council decided to recommend the admission of the American Federation of Labour and the World Federation of Trade Unions and. the International Co-operative Alliance to the first category of nongovernmental organistions with which I the Council will collaborate on the widest consultative basis. The committee suggests that these, and other non-governmental organisations admitted to the first classification, should be permitted to attend tlie Council meetings as observers, as well as hearings before Ihe sub-committees of the Council.
