EVEN MORE DRASTIC NATIONALISATION
PROSPECT IN BRITAIN “WE CANNOT PLAY SECOND FIDDLE,” SAYS MINISTER Recd. 7.15 p.m. London, May 21. "To maintain our place in the industrial race we may have to take other steps, even more drastic than this,’ declared the Minister of Fuel Mr. Shinwell, in a speech in the House of Commons before the Coal Nationalisation Bill was read a third time. "We cannot take a back seat, or play second fiddle. We may have to embark on schemes to relate industrial activities of other countries with our own. It may be necessary to promote economic integration, not only in the national, but in the international sphere."
