THE KING’S MESSAGE
Recd. 1 a.m. London. Dec. 25. “It is at this moment, when the dangers and perils of war lie behind us, we can best realise the full extent of our courage and steadfastness,” says His Majesty the King, in a Christinas message to the Merchant Navy apd the Fishing Fleet. He adds: “It is our good fortune, in the many uncertainties besetting us, always to feel confident that you would fulfil whatever demands are made on you, bringing us the materials of war and food without which we should have perished.”
