GALE IN BRITAIN SUBSIDES
Recd. 8 p.m. . London, Dec. 20. A gale which, for three days, whipped the United Kingdom, last night blew itself out. Rough seas washed up more mines, one of which forced a diversion of traffic on the main Brighton-Worthing Road. Gales in the Atlantic forced the 27,000-ton United States aircraft carrier Wasp to put into Plymouth for three days for repairs.
