TWO MEN ARRESTED
SEQUEL TO WANGANUI INCIDENT Charges in connection with the removal of rugs and carpets valued at £l5O from the Wanganui Furniture Co.’s factory, Wanganui East, early on Sunday morning, will be preferred against two young men in the Wangnui Magistrate's Court next Monday. They appeared in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday following their arrest in Wellington on Tuesday on a number of charges, including car conversion, and were remanded. Constable C. Dudley, of the Wanganui detective branch, is in Wellington in connection with the matter. The rugs removed frojm the factory were 'found in a car outside the factory by Mr. E. R. Anderson, a director of the firm, who received a cut on the head while grappling with one of the two men in the car. The men escaped in the darkness. Mr. Anderson smashed the windscreen of the car to prevent it being driven away. The machine had been stolen in Wellington. A sedan car, belonging to Mrs. Alec Shaw, which was taken from Young Street, Wanganui East, on Saturday night, has been recovered in Wellington.
