Mr. R. H. O. Hynds, Wanganui, who has returned from service in the Pacific, has received advice that he has been successful in passing his A grade motor mechanic’s exam mation. He is a son of Constable R. Hynds, Aramoho.
Mr. J. Townsend, New Zealand Workers’ Union representative on the Wanganui District Council of Primary Production, hzs been seriously ill for some time. A motion expressing regret at his enforced absence was car. ried at the council’s monthly meeting yesterday. The Mayor Hon. W. J. Rogers, and Crs. E. W. Merewether, G. P. Hawkins and W. S. N. Rennie have been appointed by the Wanganui City Council as a deputation to wait on the Minister in Charge of Valuations (Mr. Skinner) and the Value.-General in Wellington. They will make representations for an early revaluation of the city.
