PLUNKET SOCIETY MEETING
The usual monthly committee meeting of the Plunket Society, held this week, was presided over by Mrs. Wickham, who welcomed Mrs. Tulloch as Wanganui East sub-branch delegate replacing Mrs. Packard, who is leaving the district. The resignation of Mrs. E. G. Wilberfoss, who had left Wanganui, was accepted with regret. Karitane Hospital and Plunket nurse’s reports, presented, showed an admission list to hospital for the month of October, of 26 babies and 10 mothers, and a total of 6U2 babies under supervision by the Plunket nurses. Visits to Plunkets rooms had totalled 873 babies and 83 pre-school children, while 363 visits had been made to homes. Donations of £2 2s from Halcombe Plunket Society, and £5O from W. R. Tuck estate were gratefully acknowledged, and it was reported that the recent effort at Castlecliff had added £8 to the funds. A collection was taken up at the meeting to assist Mrs. Rogers’ Christmas Gift Fund for women patents at Porirua Hospital.
