Mr. G. R. Lee, formerly secretary of , the Timaru Harbour Board, has been j appointed secretary of the New Zea- , land branch of the British Medical j Association. ,
Mr. A. Pearce (Invercargill) and Mr. L. J. Morgan (Dannevirke) were visiting Rotarians welcomed at the Wanganui Rotary Club luncheon yesterday. Dr. J. J. North, who has edited the “N.Z. Baptist” for 28 years, has been re-appoin.ed to that position by the Baptist Union. Dr. North recently re. signed from his other church duties. The Rev. P. F. Lanyon, Wellington, has been appointed secretary and treasurer of the Baptist Union and Baptist Missionary Society of New Zealand. Mr. Lanyon came from Australia to take up that position for three years and now he has been reappointed for a similar term.
Mr. E. J. Hewitt has been appointed manager of the Northern Steamship Co. Ltd. The appointment was announced to-day. Mr. Hewitt succeeds the late Captain R. C. Hammond, former general manager, whose death occurred in September. Mr. Hewitt has been with Henderson and Macfarlane Limited for 27 years, and is at present manager.
