RANGITIKEI CRICKET

Two competition matches were played on Saturday on the Cricket Association’s grounds. Old Boys beat Marton bv 33 runs in a one-innings match and Porewa beat. Marton District High School by 37 runs on the first innings and made 48 in their second innings. MARTON v. OLD BOYS

The match between Marton and Old Boys resulted in a win for Old Boys by 33 runs. Cox-Head’s bowling lor Martan was responsible for five wickets for 3 runs, whilst D. Gilbert (Old Boys) carried his bat for 23 runs (not out), whilst S. Allen knocked up 25 runs for Old Boys and D. Gilbert also took four wickets for 20 runs bowling for Old Boys. | Marton.—D. J.
