DEATH FOR “HAW HAW"
DISMISSAL"*oF APPEAL Reed. 6 p.m. London, Nov. 7. William Joyce's (Lord “Haw Haw”' appeal against his sentence of death has been dismissed. Joyce's fate was decided in a Court of Criminal Appeal judgment, which took the Lord Chief Justice, Viscount Caldecote, 25 minutes to read.
Whep the Judge uttered the decisive words, “appeal dismissed,” Joyce smiled, nodded to a friend, turned quickly on his heel and walked smartly from the dock.
The judgment slated that the facts made it clear that Joyce still owed allegiance to the Crown when he commenced to adhere to the King’s enemies by broadcasting.
Joyce's legal advisers have decid'' to annl.v to the Attorney-General for certificate of appeal to the House of I .ords.
