WHARF DEMONSTRATION
DUTCH TROOPS DO NOT BLAME AUSTRALIANS Reed. 7.50 p.m Melbourne, Nov. 8. The liner Stirling Castle was heavily guarded to-dav by civilian nolice. Dutch military police and Royal Naval personnel. Sixteen hundred Dutch troops, against whom there was a demonstration yesterday, are still aboard. The Minister of lhe Navy Mr. Makin, has stated that the ship would sail as soon as possible. A sergeant on tne ship said half th® Dutch troops aboard were connected with the underground movement in Holland during the German occupation. He added Inal the Dutch troops treated the wharf demonstration yesterday as a joke. “The troops do not blame the Australians for L he behaviour of silly Communists.”
