Y.W.C.A. NATIONAL PRESIDENT IN WANGANUI
WELCOMED YESTERDAY Mrs. C. Mackie Begg, National president of the Y.W.C.A. of New Zealand, who is visi.ing Wanganui for a-few days in the course of a Dominion tour, was the guest of the Y.W.-Y.W.C.A. Women’s Committee at afternoon tea in the Lounge yesterday afternoon. Y.W.C.A. members and supporters were present. Miss Clemance acted as hostess and welcomed the visitor. A pianoforte duct was given by Mesdames R. N. Wilson and Lennon, the latter also playing ftie accompaniments for two delightful songs sung by Mrs. A. C. Seivewright. Following afternoon tea Mrs. Mackie gave an informative taLx c.i Y.W.C.A. work and the hostels she had visit ecl. She also outlined the training course being held in Dunedin. Mrs. Begg recently attended the conference of the N*ational Council of Churches in New Zealand and she told the gathering of the various subjects discussed the e. Mrs. R. N. Wilson thanked Mrs. Begg for her interesting talk and said all were made to realise that the lime was now when young people should shoulder their responsibilities.
