FORDELL MONTHLY MEETING A feature of the monthly meeting of the Fordell Women's Institute was a debate on “Was a woman's life easier 60 years ago than it is to-day?” This proved most interesting, the speakers taking part being Mesdarnes Lloyd. Speer, Bruce and Miss Christie. Mrs. Bryant presided at the meeting and welcomed all present. A roll call, “My Pet Aversion” caused considerable amusement. Miss Flyger gave the Golden Thread on Gardening, which was much appreciated. Competitions were: Gingerbread: Mcsdames Rowan 1. R. Campbell 2, Lloyd 3; flowers, tall vase: Mesdarnes Rowan 1, R. Christie 2, Lloyd 3. Hostesses for the September meeting will be Mesdarnes Power, Hickman, R. Christie and Mcßeth. MOSSTON INSTITUTE Mrs. Brooks presided at the monthly meeting of the Mosston W.I. An interesting demonstration of tatting was given by Mrs. Stan Shaw. Mrs. Stewart read the thought for the month and Mrs. Minnell gave the health hint A geneial knowledge quiz was held. The ginging circle gate two enjoyable items “The Windmill Burning” and "In a Little Dutch Kindergarten.” The president’s letter from “Home and Country” was read and correspondence was dealt with. The hostesses were Mesdarnes Syman, Rule, Stillborn and Tipper. Competition results were: Best flower, Mis. Brodie 1, Mrs. Simmonds 2, Mrs. Syman 3; lemon honey, Mrs. Simmonds 1. Mrs. Tipper 2, Mrs. Brodie 3; posy in egg cup, Mrs. Syman 1. Mrs. Stillborn 2. Mrs. Tipper 3; novelty tea cosy, Mrs. Brodie 1, Mrs. Syman 2, Mrs. Stillborn 3.
