RANGITIKEI PIONEER
TRIBUTE TO MRS. FLORENCE M. TRICKER
A wide circle of friends mourn lhe passing of Mrs. Florence Tricker. whose sudden death occurred recently at the home of her brother, Mr. D. O. Strawbridge, of Horsham Downs, Cambridge. Her death severs another link with the early pioneering days of the district. She, with her husband, Mr. C. Tricker, of Bulls, camo to Sandon Block in 1898 and endured the hardships of bush tracks and unmetalled roads before the Rangitikei River was bridged al Otara. Warmhearted and generous by nature, the late Mrs. Tricker endeared he.seif to all with whom she came in contact, and her many kindly deeds in times of trouble and sickness will long be remembered. Frie.id and stranger alike shared her gracious hospitality. She was a tireless worker for the Red Cross and other patriotic organisations, during both world wars, mo o especially 1914-18. In the early postwar years her unfailing help and ready sympathy earned the deep gratitude and lasting affection of nearby soldier settlers and their wives. Mrs. Tricker leaves two sons, Leslie of Ohingaiti, a veioran of World Wa; 1. and Allan of Wellington, who serv- : in the Middle East with the 2nd. 7. PLF.
