N.Z. TROOPS ARE IN ACTION
DIFFICULT MOUNTAINS IMPORTANT HEIGHT OCCUPIED (N.Z.E. 17 Official War Correspondent.) Divisional H.Q., Italy, May 26. New Zealand troops, with their own armoured support, this morning occupied the imnortant hill town of Tcrelle, on the northern slopes of Monte Cairo. Tarelle was an important reinforcement centre for Cassino, and, since the fail oT that town, as a site for guns protecting the enemy's left flank. Beyond Terelle are Atina and Belmonte, in both of which the enemy has guns directed against our forces. Preceding the capture of the town, a formation of New' Zealanders occupied the heights covering the aporoach to the lower slopes of Monte Cario. New Zealanders are moving i-i difficult mountain country, in which supplies are brought up by jeeps and mules.
